Its almost the end of the school year and with that comes ... FINALS . sigh, I can definitely make a rant about why finals suck ass but thats not the point of todays post. Todays post is to provide some helpful easy studying tips for getting that A+ on your final! So If you have a ton of Finals to cram for and feel super overwhelmed I hope these tips will help!
1. SET A REMINDER ON YOUR PHONE
Time management is key, so make sure to set reminders on your phone to alert you when a final is coming up. Trust me, there have been times where I just completely forget about an Exam until the night before. Yikes
2. MAKE A SCHEDULE
Plan out when (ex. Mon Night) your going to study and how long(1 H+) . Its best to space out the studying and begin reviewing material day by day until the exam OR, you can cram like crazy the night before AKA ME.
3. BEFORE STUDYING , PUT AWAY YOUR PHONE
This is CRUCIAL! unless you have a lot of self control , your going to be tempted to use your phone/tabler during study time. Wether you need to put it under your bed or place it in another room , just get rid of it! NO PHONE= less chance of procrastination
4. PREP A CLEAN DESK/WORKSPACE
Set up a place to study wether its on your desk or bed. Gather everything you need, notes, water, a snack. So you don't need to leave the room to get anything every 5 min.
5. PLAY SOME MUSIC
Try listening to music while studying. I recommend instrumental studying music playlists on YT instead of music with lyrics. The songs are calming and will help you focus.
6. READ IT, WRITE IT , SAY IT (REPETITION IS KEY)
My go to memorizing technique: writing out definitions while reading them out loud repeatedly will help your brain retain the information. Making up a story/song or associating terms with familiar things might also help.
7. TAKE BREAKS
10-20min breaks every hour is important because doing an activity that will relax the brain will help it absorb all the new information.
8. MAKE CUE CARDS/NOTES
easy to wipe out wherever you are.
9. QUICK OVERVIEW BEFORE EXAM
the morning before your exam, review your notes and try testing yourself or ask a friend to do so.
10. HAVE A LITTLE FAITH
After all the painful tedious studying, I'm sure you'll do fine! ;)
GOOD LUCK.
Stay On Top of the World
